True to his life Mantra of You Only Live Once, Apurva Tandon, lives each day to the fullest and describes his present days as his second life! In an earlier life in uniform; he served the nation for 24 years in the Indian Army before taking voluntary retirement in the summer of 2012 to explore a second life out of uniform.
While in the Army, Apurva spent large parts of his tenure in the thick of anti-terrorist operations in Jammu and Kashmir, punctuated with postings in the salubrious climes of Wellington and Deolali – attending exotic long professional courses and training cadets at the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla. He is proud to have had the dual privilege of being commissioned into one of the oldest and then getting to command one of the finest regiments of the Indian Army.
Since the summer of 2012, Apurva has been part of senior operational leadership in the corporate sector – leading global teams based out of Delhi NCR. He also dabbles in entrepreneurial ventures managed with the help of his wife. And, with a quest to give back to the society, he is an active member of an NGO facilitating education for underprivileged children from the slum areas in Delhi NCR.
A self-proclaimed lifelong student of the intricate human emotions, Apurva spends a good part of his spare time studying subjects like NLP, CBT, and life coaching skills. He strongly believes that in order to maximize their potential, all leaders must possess a good understanding of the human mind.
Apurva is also an avid reader and a passionate musician in his spare time. He lives in NOIDA with his wife, daughter, books, plants and music!
